PLAYER AWARDS

Player awards are an important part of mini-rugby at Ards RFC.  Previous winners have set the standard which those who come after should aim to achieve.  Awards also serve to mark a player's progress through his time in mini-rugby, before, hopefully, going on to represent the Club into Youth rugby.  It is one of the club's strengths that many of our Senior and Youth players have come up through the mini-rugby ranks.  It is essential to the continued success of the Club that we nurture young talent at Ards RFC.

The categories for the awards for all Age-Grades will be: Best Try Scorer, Best Newcomer, Most Improved and, of course, Best Player.  Coaches may decide to nominate more than one player for each category depending on player performance.  Awards are presented at the End of Season Party.

In 2005 a new annual award will be presented to a Year 8 player who has shown commitment and dedication to Mini Rugby at Ards for a number of years, before heading on into Youth Rugby.  The Shirley Anderson Endeavour Award trophy was presented to the club by Thelma Morrow in memory of her sister.  The player receiving the award will keep a copy of the trophy.
